				Hi,
This weekend I managed to take a few photos through breaks in the cloud, I had to battle with the winds to get the plane in the frame!
Unusually, there were a number of flights passing over me taking off from Gatwick. All aircraft at approx. 28,000ft.

ContrailsUK nice shot, so early in the morning. Does the new scope really helps to get the most out of this low light situations?
I didn;t have an opportunity to do contrail spotting for more than a month, mostly because of bad weather

On easter holidays I had 4 free days,I thought I might get something, but weather was tottaly messed up, didn't leave me any hope at all

Today in the evening, after snowstorm passed I had some clear skies and managed to get something at last:
18:00, UL29, but no contrails

B747-400 Lufthansa DLH729 ZSPD-EDDF

That's all

You are not alone, the same situation is in central Poland, it's hard to find good day for taking contrail shots, and even when there is no clouds, planes at FL 250 and more, are flying witchout contrails.

				Hi,
I dont know if you already know about this but member "Skystef" from another forum (luchtzak.be) told me about a temperature chart you can use to find out if there will be contrails. After entering all the details it came up with this for 27th March at 12:00 noon.

Generally the blue means contrails, orange no trails or little chance of contrails.
I hope this helps.

Hi I remeber Skystef from luchtzak.be.
About contrails where I live in East part in Poland today planes were flying without contrails, the weather conditions were crazy ! In 5 minutes it changed heavy snow then beautiful blue sky seems in Alps

Greetings

				Thank you
CONTRAIL

Can you ask about the website, where we can enter our details and see the chart in the future?

PawelB I got the same unstable weather. Lots of clouds, snow changing to clear skies and soon again clouds and snow.
Today weather was more stable with more clear skies. But still no contrails.
17:42 UL29
B747-400 Lufthansa DLH729 ZSPD-EDDF

17:50 UL29, at FL380
A340-300
B-2389 Air China CCA935 ZSPD-EDDF

and unexpectedly I saw some weak contrails

18:20 UN858, FL310
B747-400
PH-BFT KLM KLM887 EHAM-VHHH

This 747 was flying much lower than others and produced a contrail. That's strange and unusual for me, I thought planes make contrails only when flying higher when those which do not make contrails.
Thank's for showing a chart
ContrailsUK, It will really help me in the future.

This happened with me too, the contrails were forming at low altiudes but when the planes reached above FL300 they were gone. I once saw in the distance the contrails forming as low as 22,000ft
